Murgatroyd is not listed, although I suspect it means curmudgeonly.

Now to get rid of the crude and we'll all be laughing.

HOLY CARP!!!
SAMUEL
Gender: Male
Origin: Hebrew
Meaning: Name of God

Shmu'el -- 'Shem'=name, 'El'=God... but, 'Shema' means "hear", and so it is sometimes translated instead as "God heard". (I don't know much about Hebrew root words -- maybe Bach or Radu can explain better) And my middle name, Azri'el, comes from the two words, "azer" (help) and "el" (God), sometimes translated as "Helper of God."

HOLY CARP!!!
the last two babies would have been Samuel if either had been a boy. As we were wheeling into the delivery room, David said "Is it Sam or Amy?" I just had a feeling, so I said "it's Amy" it was. We knew fairly early that the last one was a girl, so she was only Merry-Sam for a few months.
