If you live in the North and vote Republican, you're not a real Northerner. Would you mind awfully if I started calling you Bubba?

I still wish you'd come here so I could see if it is indeed fun to kill foreigners.

Actually, Southern Democrats are pretty darned conservative. My views actually fall more in line with them, then with the hardcore conservative Southern Republicans.

All that aside, Meyerson is an ass.

Foreigner is telling ME I'm not a northerner?? Well that's fine, but could you please come up with a more flattering southern sounding name than Bubba? It's just that it seems to imply something about how I'd conduct myself were I to ever be incarcerated. :whome:

When El Presidente starts getting involved in the Terri Schiavo case, and Bill Frist starts diagnosing by videotape, and John McCain starts pandering to Jerry Falwell, you know that the Republicans have sold their souls to the religious right.

And, in this country, the religious right is a minority everywhere but the South.

Thank you for those priceless pearls cast before us swine. :blah:

There are many that see social conservatism as the sole province of the religious right.

If it had been an American book Golding would have needed to add:

1. A Southern black man-servant with poor verbal skills but a heart of gold
2. A feisty boy from the Bronx, who was good hearted underneath
3. A villainous British boy, rather along the lines of young Malfoy
4. A licence to McDonalds to give away toy flies with every Happymeal
5. The Lord of the Flies II, Return to Piggy Island.

Amen.

What many do not understand, is many elected local officials are still Democrats.

But they tend to morph into Republicans when they run for many national offices, because the national Democrat party carries such a huge amount of baggage.
