HOLY CARP!!!
|
![]() Anybody heard it yet? It was released in September. The library here at school just got a copy of it last week, so I was the first person to check it out today. (I caught the librarian putting labels on the new CDs last week, and this one was on top of the pile -- so I had her put it on hold for me when she was done so that I'd be the first to get it when it first went into the system!) I think I've said it before, but I really like Scherbakov. I don't always agree with everything he does, but it's so refreshing that he does some things I disagree with -- too many pianists are just so impersonal (not in the sense of being 'cold' but in the sense of not doing anything that makes them sound like unique pianists). Oh, but he does so much that I hadn't thought of before --- every single little tiny detail is carefully planned. I've never looked at the score for Shosty 2, but I've heard it lots of times by other pianists, and it just amazes me how he brings out the absolute tiniest details that I hadn't even noticed before were in the music, but seem so obvious when he is playing it. And he does so much that I really like -- even the stuff that I don't maybe like as much at first, it still makes sense to me, and it still sound great. Listening to the 3rd movement of Sonata 2 now... so incredible! |

I bought a copy last month. I love it. I want to learn a few of those tunes from the Limpid Stream- particularly the Lyric Waltz |
