Apparently, she's not going to pander to the farther left side of the party. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...6112800937.html |

This was a smart move by Pelosi. As much as I would not mind seeing her make mistakes I would have to draw the line at putting a guy like this in charge of the Intelligence Committee. He is still on the committee which is troubling but at least he is not chairman which would bring him into an even smaller circle of secrecy. |

Mmmmmmm, pie!

Just the fact that Hastings was even considered for the post shows the democrats lack judgment. I don't know anything about the other one. But for Pelossi to reject him is hardly "starting out on the right foot", for two reasons - first, she already stuck her "first foot" out with Jack "I'm a traitorous crook" Murtha, and she failed the test. Second, it would take a total fool to even think about considering Hastings for anything. Nope - Pelossie stuck her foot in the water with Murtha, and she drowned. |

No matter what she did, you would say she failed. So, really, you aren't a credible observer. You filter everything through the same prism. Me, if she'd said Hastings was going to be Chairman, I would have thought that was a HUGE mistake. So, like JB, and unlike you, I'm willing to see good outcomes as good outcomes, and bad outcomes as bad outcomes. |

Nancy ("Do as I say, not as I do") Pelosi is a seasoned, shrewd policitian, who understands that importance of perception when it comes to these appointments. Otherwise why, after all the pre-announcments, did she jettison Jack (unindicted Abscam co-conspirator) Murtha? For the same reasons, she decided to not put up (former impeached judge) Alcee Hasings, who in his disappointment invoked the Deity. "Sorry, haters, God is not finished with me yet," he wrote. I guess it's not the Fundementalists who turn to God in their politics. |

Don't you just hate corrupt judges? I sure do and I'm sure he is right. God isn't finished with him. |

I'm sure you meant to use the word "just" somewhere in that last sentence. Just as I'm sure that you meant to spell "Fundamentalist" properly. |
