whoa... JBryan is good.. my favorite composer by far is Bach.. distantly followed by Schumann. i accompany a church group comprised of a trombone, acoustic and bass guitar, flute, mandolin and a host of singers.. sometimes additional instruments. I've put a lot of time recently into learning how to play with great aplomb, authority and creativity. we play every other week. we are directorless for the time being, so i am a behind the scenes arranger, decider, facilitator, and commander. back to Bach.. I've learned the tocatta in e minor (perhaps someday i'll play it on the organ in public), about 15 prelude-fugues.. no memorization for me, and dabble in the French and English suites, sinfonia, i practice 60 to 120 minutes daily and often another 60 at nite if i'm lucky. i'm just starting to get good. |
