All Iraq comparisons aside, 20,000 murders a year is a horrible statistic.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

Well, let's see ...

In Iraq, 10% of the population has fled their homes since the U.S. invasion.

In the United States, that's only true in Louisiana and maybe Mississippi.

Yes, it is.

Absolutely.

With a current population of 295,734,134, that's a 0.006% murder rate per year.

So in a nutshell, the rate of murder and violent death in Iraq is at least 10 times higher than in the US given the population of the US is about 12 times that of Iraq. One is bad; the other is worse.

Nobody can touch the modern Muslim fanatic for murderous ferocity. What is weird is that we stomped on the wasp nest but mostly they are killing each other.

My point is that the murder rate isn't the only statistic that shows how desperate and scary life is in Iraq right now. And that comparisons between Iraq and the U.S. are absurd.

I didn't expect you to get the point. Thanks for being predictable.

From the guy who claims he never throws the first insult...

Considering how much you had to elaborate since your tangent could have gone off in a dozen equally insignificant directions, I am not concerned that your feeble attempt to draw a parallel between migration due to hostilities and migration due to unprecedented natural disasters was lost on me.

I am sure that it made perfect sense to such a brilliant mind as yours.

I’m surprised that number isn’t even higher and frankly considering what returning servicemen have told me of the people and conditions there, I could really – edited --! Let them keep it up – and let us get the hell out of their way. Sorry GWB, democracy in three years, in a place that’s only known one form of barbarism or another doesn’t look very promising.

It’s time for the next option.
