Tom, when graduation times comes around - you may want to upgrade the piano you have at home...it was a great starter, but you don't want your daughter always wanting to visit her aunt to play the "cool" piano. |

No question--muchly thought of. We have the room and a major buy would be in store--but it has to be earned and deserved, and this piano (unlike her aunt's) would have to be understood--as the piano for you to learn on for a long long time. That would be the sound she want's to make--she's not ready for that. For now she'd say her Young Chang is the best piano ever. She doesn't have that point of taste to make an appropriate decision--no hurry. When she decides--I'll buy what she likes. I'm a good Daddy. |

You're both very lucky. I like it when it works that way. |

I should take pics of the house and grounds the next time I'm there. It's really about the most beautiful place I've ever been. |

This (beautiful!) piano has a PianoDisc system on it. As such, the front two legs are notched to accomodate the solenoid rail. In this particular case, even extra stoopid movers couldn't get those suckers on in the wrong place. If there was a mix-up in the 'which leg goes where department' , it would have occured while doing modifications for the system. I suppose you could always pop off the back leg, and see if it's marked as #3. (there'd be thee dashes pressed into the top of the leg) |

It shouldn’t have happened, and the worst of it was, to a Steinway. If some other piano was installed with the wrong legs I suppose word would get around and it would be pretty awful - pw3d, but for Steinway to make the mistake. Oh well … yes Tom, the piano seems like it will perform well where it is if the temperature and humidity are kept under control and if the thing gets tuned regularly as it will need especially for the next two years and more. Steinways are certainly nice, but they do require maintenance. And yes, a lot of nice people I know happen to own Steinway B’s too. It’s too bad that a lot of them treat them as if they were “built to take it” rather than understanding that they are deserving of extra special care. |

I'd like to see more of that house. It looks incredible. The first picture is very nice, with the view out to the garden. |
