Sometimes the new technologies have a hard time staying ahead of improvements in existing technologies. This could be an example. Small engine reaps big dividends Big Al |

What happened to ceramic engines - thought the idea was they could run hotter and needed no oil (and are lighter)? And, out of my league on this, but aren't tubines more efficient. Obviously could be used for hybrid with electric drive. |

Interesting you would mention that, Jolly. I just recently encountered a pumping plant that looked like something out of the 20s-30s as near as I could tell peering through the fence at the corrugated iron engine house. It was running with that odd beat of an engine on well-head gas and blowing an occasional smoke ring from the exhaust pipe in the yard. Big Al |

I also thought the 6 stroke engine, that injects water and combusts steam on the 5th and 6th, was brilliant. Someone had posted that article here a while back. |
