To complete the thought, here is Ann's column. Good column, Ann:

Ann says democratic win is really the party's death throes. Go Ann.

Somebody made an election prediction that there would be a lot of lying, followed by both sides claiming a victory.

Who was that masked man?

Cap'n Obvious.

Cheeky upstart yank.

No, my ignorant friend, it was I, The Keeper of the Sacred Pants, the purveyor of Wit and Wisdom to the stupid masses, it was I. Master of the Words of Wisdom. King of all that is,....er....Super-duper.

CAPTAIN PANTS!

Another cheeky yank. You just wait until the revolution comes, you'll be swapping John Wayne for John Wayne Bobbit.

I'd have to agree that the Dems didn't win, the Republicans lost.

But I disagree with Larry as to why the Republicans lost.

They didn't lose because they weren't conservative enough.

They lost because the majority of the American public is sick of the direction of the war in Iraq, and sick of El Presidente refusing to acknowledge reality or change course even a little. Too bad he decided to change course the day AFTER the election.

They lost because the American public has an amazingly low opinion of W, in general, and 40% of the people polled said they were voting against W. Astounding that that many people were willing to say they were voting against someone who isn't even on the ballot.

--------

The Democrats didn't win. They just managed to avoid tripping over their own feet too much.

I agree with this much. However, I think the reason why the majority of the public was disaffected was more interesting. I think it was mostly due to MSM pounding the message home, day after day, night after night.

Regarding Bush yes-men, I think if they had been doing things the public wanted the electorate would be fine with that.

Regarding Social Security, I don't think that was even on the radar anymore.

Maybe you better talk to Jolly about that Social Security thing. He keeps saying it ain't over yet.
