HOLY CARP!!!
|
I'm not having any luck getting a picture of it. We bought it day before yesterday, but didn't get it home until after dark. Yesterday, David had it all day long , again, wasn't back until after dark. Today...it's pouring rain! It's a 2005 Camry, pale silver with light interior, nice sound, and a sunroof. Drives like a dream. I love it! |

Finally
|
When I was growing up, I had that "I'll never buy a used car" mentality. "You're buying someone else's problems!" Probably got it from my parents. However, I find that more and more people are doing exactly that. One of my partners (who's a car nut) always buys used. He's had BMW 5-series, a Boxtor (sp?), and now a Lexus SUV - all used. (He also has no kids in college). Are they a good investment? Any problems? Oh, Deb, congrats!

I always knew I would buy used. My parents always did. I have no problem with used cars, but a new one would be cool. My mom just bought her very first NEW car about two weeks ago and she's soooo happy. I can't wait to see it. |

George...we've been married almost 26 years and we've never bought a new car. We always buy used. We do quite a bit of shopping and homework. So far, we get tons more for our money buying a 1-2 year old vehicle and so far, we haven't had problems. |

If I needed a car I would probably buy one around 2 years old as well. It seems to be the best value. Camry's are great cars, congratulations, Deb. Post a pic when you can. |

I think I might be insufficiently mature to deal with the prosperity of a new car. I think it would make me psycho for the kids to be in and out, to think of acquiring a scratch or dent. The peace of mind of a car that I can say "Oh well" about is reassuring. |

George you can buy the ex lease cars from dealerships, the owner has had to maintain it properly as a part of the lease contract - and then they have paid for the worst of the depreciation. Ours was 4 years old when we got it and has been great. Congratulations Deb! |

Congratulations! A new car in the family is always fun. IT and I bought our first brand new car earlier this year. My dad was a bodyman so he would buy wrecked cars and fix them up for our family to drive. So this XTerra is the first brand new, never been wrecked car I've ever had. We love it.

I'm glad you get new undies and pianos. My car is 7. I don't need a lot of new stuff. Got an iPod and that is about all I need. jf |

My former profession was as a bodyman. No joke or double entendre, I actually used to do autobody repair and painting. I left it to do something that I didn't have to spend most of my time rolling around on the ground. |

You can't go wrong with Toyota. They make great cars. Almost as good as Honda! jf |

HOLY CARP!!!

We drove a couple of very nice Hondas too. I liked them, but they didn't tempt me fatally because we got a really good deal on this one. We had a Toyota early in our marriage and the second I got in, it just seems so purrrrrfect. It's very comfortable for my old rickety back. One of the most important things for us to have on a car is power seats with a lumbar doo-dad that I can stand to be in for long trips. It is so much more fun to drive than our vans. We need them when we have to haul whole teams, but it's going to be very nice to have a car that fits better when we don't have so many people, and so much junk to haul around. |

I financed my Mustang (Cobra) on a five year note. At no time during the term of that note was it worth less than what I owed. I made the last payment in April and it now has about 52K on it. I plan to keep this car for many years to come. |

Everyone's circumstances are different so I'll say this- think twice if you're thinking about going into debt you don't have to- it might not be worth it to you before it's said and done. |

loans aren't a problem if your savvy on how to use them and especially if you can pay extra principle each month. this site has great financial calculators, including how much you'll save and how much faster you'll pay off your car loan, mortage, etc., by increasing monthly payments by $50, $100, whatever. pretty cool. http://www.youngmoney.com/calculators |
