Perfect; I'll never call it anything else. I need to go shopping tomorrow. Think I'll look for a couple of different porters, do some tasting. I used to make beer, and came to really appreciate rich, chewy, nutty ales. Too bad they come with about 80000000 calories each. |

I know someone who was given Blue Label as a present. He said it was nice, but not $200 nice. I think JW invented it to sell in Japanese Duty Free shops. The rest of the Johnnie Walker stuff is pretty nice for a blend, with the obvious exception of Red Label, which I unfortunately remember from my younger days. |

I like the Black Label and brought a bottle of it to my brother-in-law in China as a gift. I also brought a few bottles of Maker's Mark for others. Unfortunately all the Maker's Mark seemed to end up on a banquet table at a local restaurant where the entire extended family was seeing us off (and celebrating my and my wife's 50th Bday) on a trip to Henan. They started out filling tumblers with the stuff untill I instructed them that this was much more like their Baijou (Loosely "white wine" although their white wine could get an octane rating) than their Pijou (beer). I got pretty toasted that night although I did make the plane. |
