I am so adjective that I verb nouns!

Riley: Let me explain: since I am a conservative, I exploit the poor and have profited so much off of the war, my Halliburton stocks, and the oil futures I bought in 2002 that I no longer need to work and so I have the leisure to post a lot here. So its not per se that {at least in my case} this is a conservative hegemony, its just that conservativism has been very very good to me.

Finally

Thanks for the perspective, IT. It's not all that different from what I was going to post, for, while people think I sit in an operating room, providing monitoring and sedation for everything from Open Hearts to Circumcisions, in fact, I am on the Wi-Fi network of the hospital, using their generously-provided bandwidth so that I can search out clever caption photos, silly jokes, and, of course, links to documents that support the war in Iraq. After all, there's nothing else to do behind that screen, is there? |

I am the grey one
|
Although I am fabulously wealthy it really does not show because of a money furnace I have called a wife. However, I still can find lots of time to post here and express my desire that the iron boot of conservatism remain on the throat of the downtrodden. It is my way at getting back at the world for encumbering me wiith so much. |

Mmmmmmm, pie!

Actually, that's not quite the case. We have history that we can fall back on that shines the light of truth on the subject.... Now - lest the liberals here get their panties in a wad, let me sort you out first. There are rational thinking people who consider themselves liberal, and while they will argue their position from a liberal viewpoint, they are open to other points of view. Then there are what's known as "yellow dog democrats". Those in that group will defend the party line no matter how ridiculous it is, even when they know the party line is wrong. They are capable of rational thought, they just use it selectively, as it suits their purpose. Next are the crumb crunchers - the wet behind the ears not quite children but nowhere near adult early teenagers who can't even remember when Ronald Reagan was in the White House but think they are experts on politics. Then..... there are the Koolaid drinking Left Wing fruitcakes. These, by the way, are the *only* ones I'm talking about when I call them "brain dead". Among this group is a subset of individuals who have had very little exposure to anyone who thinks differently than they do. They did not arrive at their worldview through honest and careful consideration, they arrived at it because everyone they know thinks the same way. They are like water - they take the path of least resistance. All their friends think a certain way, and its just easier to go with the flow than actually use their brain. These people are actually shocked to find out that there are people who actually disagree with them. They just don't know how to handle it - they are so certain their position is the only one possible that exposure to any other viewpoint than their own sends them into coniption fits. They are easily identified - they react in much the same way. 1. The decide they are on a "mission" to stamp out this contrary thought process. 2. The announce they are "here to kick some conservative butt", or something similar, such as being "here to add balance". Balance being defined by the way, as the elimination of everything that contradicts them, so that the only things left to debate are the finer points of *their* position, both sides agreeing on the main issue, and only disagreeing on the details. 3. When challenged, they attack, then when you respond to their attack they attempt to twist it around to make it look like they are the victim. They're really good at that. 4. They decide the group they've joined is a "bastion of Right wingers", in other words, "there are people on here who think differently than me, and that's not acceptable." 5. They express their viewpoints based on how they *feel* instead of using rational and open minded judgment. They will describe things like how they played a certain song and how it made them *Feel*, and describe their emotionally crippled response. This is because to a brain dead liberal, all the world is a group therapy session. That someone might actually have their feet on the ground and not be a reactionary emotional cripple never enters their mind. 6. They are filled with hate. I do not have a problem with rational thinking liberals. In fact, I am more liberal in some ways than some of you might think. I can have a discussion with a rational thinking liberal, and sometimes I will even realign my thinking as a result of it. I can *not* tolerate ideologically constipated simpering fools who fall into the "brain dead" category. I defy anyone to show me where I have ever gone after a rationally thinking liberal simply because he or she held a liberal viewpoint. I get along with Kenny, John D'oh, Nina, and several others - and have never had a harsh word with any of them, even when we disagree. You will find the ones I blast are the Koolaid drinking kooks, and only after they've made an ass out of themselves. |

I think we may be saying the same thing here Larry - that there are people here who will debate/argue with you - some of whom clearly you have more respect for than others . My point was that simply because they are not present in one particular thread, for whatever reason, does not mean that they do not exist. |

Just so that there is no misuderstanding- I am a homeless drug addict who posts from the public library because nothing in life is more important to me than increasing the understanding between Americans and Canadians- because I feel that if we learn that we are all just people there will be less chance of an armed conflict between us involving the loss of many innocent lives. ![]() |
