Today is the first day of me working from home on Fridays -- and only 6 hours to boot! I also don't work Monday's anymore and that started this week but I didn't really notice it because it was a holiday. I'll notice it Monday though :). Saturday, 8 women from my high school graduating class are coming to NYC for 2 days, I'm meeting them Saturday afternoon for pre-theatre cocktails. Like a mini reunion! |

What an endeavor ... Way to go Tcmod! Good luck with it. Post a pic if you can .. I'd like to see you smile with it. Be very proud. Someday (my vision & knees permitting) I'd like to give it a go too. You guys have discipline for sure. I'm going to run 10K for a T-shirt on Sunday. Will likely do 3K with the 12 yr old Saturday. Just finished 8.5K now. That's killing about 1800 cals this w/e. Hope the weather cooperates.

thanks!! i will try to get a good pic....nothing funnier than a grown man in a wetsuit! 10k is perfect distance! you should check out chi running and i think "evolution running" both are running methods designed to let us run without pain. just remember to take very small strides! |

I unexpectedly don't have Liam this weekend. So I'm going to spend tonight reading and talking to Soak once he gets his kidlet to bed. Tomorrow I'm going into work/doing laundry. Sunday I'm going to spend most of the day reading. |

Tonight is my best friend's 20th birthday. There are going to be at least 60 people here tonight. We have a keg, a few handles of various alcoholic beverages, and lots of bottles of stuff. So, I will be recovering from tonight. And practicing, and learning music for a performance next weekend. Woohoo!

Heh ... the only funnier than a grown man in a wet suit would be this 44 yr. old mama who still has a large percentage of body fat to kill off. ![]() I loved swimming when I was younger. I'd want to test myself again in a pool to see if I could pull off something similar to what you're doing ... It's the combination of all 3 that scares me (wobbly legs & arms & all). I doubt highly if I could challenge a half-ironman like you're doing. But there are the smaller triathlon (or duathlon) events though that I might be able to do. I'm doing a program thru the Running Room. I'll do one more 10K thing this year, another in the spring, then I'll consider taking the half marathon course. I'm fortunate b/c I do have a personal trainer & sports-medical type support to help me. I'm being real thoughtful & careful about this. Yes, do post some pics. It's an amazing thing what you're doing. Very few people attempt this ... IMO you should perma-post your efforts in cyberspace so you can go back & reflect upon your success with it! Good Luck Tcmod

Last week my son came home to get the remaining things he wanted from his childhood bedroom. This weekend we're donating the furniture and re-working his room in to a private sanctuary for my wife/guest bedroom. A bittersweet experience. |

I hear ya. We converted our eldest son's bedroom into a weight room. We still have alot of his stuff though. Stuff he didn't want to take with him and I didn't want to give up. Old books and stuff like that. There are cartons of baseball cards that we still have to go through. Those things can be worth some money. It all makes me weepy. But I have to tell you, we love having a weight room
