We're fighting the wrong war; let's be honest

This war on terror is not so much a traditional military operation. It is heavily dependent upon information and intelligence.

This article is about a book written by an anonymous CIA agent. I would suspect he knows a bit more than some loud-mouths here on this form.

I hope you read this short article.

BTW, this isn't from Mother Earth news or some other far-left publication. This is NBC.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
I find his premise very short-sighted. You need to look much deeper into the many strategic aspects of the Iraq venture before you condemn it on one aspect alone. It made, and makes, sense on startegic levels other than the obvious, which is evidently all you are looking at.

Add to that the fact that UBL will interpret anything we do as supporting his worldview, and will present it as such to those who are inclined to believe such things. It is called propaganda. All entities use it. If we announce an aid package to Malaysia for some natural disaster he will paint that as part of our war on Islam too.

By the way, if you wish to be taken seriously on here you might start out on a less confrontational note. You paint yourself as an a**shole right off.

What is confrontational about that post?

If you want to read confrontation go back to yesterday's posts.

The article makes a good point. I tend to think that a CIA operative would know a little bit more than you or I about how the war on terror is going.

You know I am not a fan of this war. What do you expect me to post? A funny picture of somebody? I can do that.

A former CIA operative can be just as wrong (oh, how we know it) and/or have just as much of an agenda as anyone else. This came out two years ago and it was debated on this forum then. The identity of the agent who wrote this has long been known (Michael Schuer or something like that) and what I wrote above applies quite well to him.

There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it".

Ah, Hobie. You haven't figured it out yet. The entire mainstream media is made up of left-wing lunatics, according to those on the right on this board. So, they would give NBC only slightly more credence than they would a left-wing blog. If that much.

By the way ... not that I am anyone to criticize vitriolic language ... but I think Mik is criticizing the tone based on one hyphenated word. It does kind of color the rest of your post, don't you think?

Yeah...your right.

I am ready for round two with that certain poster. I probably should ease back a bit.

Thanks.

Are you, now......

Why - that sounds like a threat, lacy drawers!

And to think - you're against war!....

Well, you get your wish, fruitcake. I'm gonna burn your house down.

Geez, Larry!

That was another literary feat! And to think you also posted over on the "trash talk" thread! You are the MAN when it comes to trash talk. Let's break down that last insult...and it was pretty good:

"Pussy liberal Bob Dylan playing cry on your sleeve candy assed left wing fruitloop"

I like candy...but candy ass, no thanks. I could eat fruitloops cereal and listen to Bob Dylan and wipe my sugary lips on my sleeve. Crying? Well I guess I'm guilty as charged.

You don't give me very much to talk about when you just sling names around.

You want me to be kicked out of our country? That's funny, because I was thinking the same thing about you! Isn't that what makes this country great? Two people like you and me who are completely different...like polar frikkin' opposites...can go at it and still coexist in the same cyberspce together? I love you, man...

Hey! Do I smell...is that a campfire? Someone get the marshmallows.. Let's make some S'mores! Yummy for the tummy! Kum-ba-yahhhh My lord! Kum-ba-yahhhhhh!

The problem with "lacy drawers", as was pointed out in the "bikes are the answer thread" is that they ride up your butt.

What is the "right war" Hobie?

You say we are fighting the "wrong war" so obviously you think that war is OK as long as it is the "right war"?

What gives?
