Isarel suffers highest 1 day toll The leader of the Islamic militant group Hezbollah grudgingly joined Lebanon's government in accepting the U.N. resolution but vowed to keep fighting until Israeli troops leave and hand over territory to a muscular U.N. peacekeeping force intended to separate the antagonists. If that's the case, Hezbollah won't stop shooting at Israeli's on Monday morning as they will still be in Lebanon. |

I suspect they'll quit sending rockets into Israel but continue fighting Israeli soldiers on Lebanese soil. They've telegraphed as much. This won't be a cease-fire so much as the beginning of a 2+ week process of disengagement. Either way, its welcome news. |

Well at least one leader other than Isreal's Ehud gets it: Australian Prime Minister John Howard has said Hezbollah must be disarmed if the UN truce in Lebanon is to last. |

Hezbullah gets it too. They're just not listening. Hezbollah fired more than 230 rockets, Israel reported, and several hit the northern port city of Haifa, where at least two people were seriously injured. The IDF said it carried out more than 100 aerial attacks targeting Hezbollah militants. ... But the Lebanese Cabinet postponed its meeting Sunday to discuss implementing the resolution, a Lebanese government minister said. The meeting was postponed one to two days, the minister said, at the request of parliamentary speaker Nabih Berri, a key negotiator with Hezbollah. The postponement will give government officials more time to meet with Hezbollah leadership to discuss details of implementing the U.N. resolution, the Lebanese minister said. |
