Back when I was young, my mom was trying to keep just healthy foods in the house. For a long time, all I ever knew was Cheerios, Kix, Life, etc. Sometimes she'd treat us and spring for Frosted Mini Wheats or Lucky Charms.

I always begged her to buy Cookie Crisp. Cookies? For breakfast??? When I was older and I finally got around to trying them, I realized that they bare no resemblance to cookies. The little "chocolate chip" specks weren't even chocolate! What a let down -_-

Oh yeah, Cookie Crisp! I got that once in a while. Good stuff!

I also liked Cocoa Pebbles.

Actually, my favorite was Cocoa Crispies. I just wanted to get a cross post credit with all the war threads.

Sick, I know.

Crispy Critters.

I remember Crispy Critters! There was a kid who got burned a little in a fire and that was his nickname forever more. Children are remarkably vicious creatures. It was a friend of mine's brother, so I definitely refrained.

Anyway.. I liked Cap'n Crunch w/Crunchberries.

But my tastes have matured. I now like Reese's Puffs. Awesome with sliced bananas. It's like having breakfast with Elvis.

Oddly enough, as a kid, my favorite was Cinammon Life. Then I hit college and life was all about Captain Crunch.

And Glazed Donuts.....But that's another story.

I wonder if McCain can eat cereal, given his clenched jaw and all.... maybe he's left handed though, so the spoon pokes more into the right side of his mouth.......

When I was in university, a friend of mine used to buy herself a box of Captain Crunch every year on her birthday as a treat. She never ate it otherwise, but looked forward to it all year.

The only cold cereal I would eat when I was a kid was Wheaties. I liked my breakfast hot. My mother tried everything to get me to eat kid cereal. She wasted a ton of money on that cr@p...I couldn't stand it.

Wow - two people here have made reference to 'Frosted Flakes'. This is a success for Kellogg's marketing efforts.

When we were young they were actually called SUGAR Frosted Flakes. They dropped the word 'Sugar' in the 70s.

In our house there was a strict prohibition against dry cereals.

In their place this was standard breakfast fare served hot and mixed with milk and a spoonful of honey:
