HOLY CARP!!!

Tylenol 3? Surely you can get stronger stuff than that, esp. with your jaw bone and nerve involvement. I got Percocet and Vicodin for my root canal. Awesome!

I got mine out about 2 weeks ago, which you probably know since you read my thread. I would say definitely take a couple of days off, probably three. I got a dry socket - which I don't believe I mentioned in the other thread - about a week ago. I knew it was something weird when vicodin didn't help. I took a vicodin and two ibuprofens at once and that put me to sleep. heh. So that was pretty painful. You just have to go back in and they pack it with some gunk and the pain is gone in like 30 min. Hopefully you won't get that but I think they're fairly common.

My 2 cents.........had all 4 of mine removed when I was 26. 2 were impacted. The guy who did it was a specialists in facial reconstructive surgey as well - don't know if that made a difference. They knocked me out and did the deed. Went home and took a 2 hour nap. Woke up with some pain, which I soon realised was due to all the gauze sitting in the back of my mouth. Removed that, and felt much better. Didn't take any pain killers, ate Chinese food the next day, and burgers the following day along with hosting a beach bar-b-cue with my roomates. I must have washed my mouth out about 10 times a day with warm salt water. Worst part was getting the stiches out on the one side as they seemed to be stuck. Only other thing I remember - when I left the doctors office after the procedure there was teenage girl also getting into the elevator. Must have had the same thing done as her cheeks were extremely swollen and she looked miserable. Hopefully she had some good pain killers. |
