About Betty

Betty Butterfield is a character created and performed by the very talented and prolific Chuck Knipp, well-known also for his outrageous, politically-incorrect performances as Shirley Q. Liquor.

Chuck Knipp's bio (in his own words):

I worked as a psychiatric RN, a Quaker minister, active in the ACLU. I ran for Congress as a Libertarian in Texas in 2000.

I do other voices and characters mainly used in commercials in radio advertisements nationwide. I am best known for my impersonation of Jesse Jackson, George Bush(es), the late Paul Tsongas as well as virtually all regional and national accents.

I also do the other voices portrayed in the Shirley Q. Liquor recordings, including Watusi Jenkins, Betty Butterfield, Elder Leroy, Mamaw and others.

Show business fans of Shirley Q. Liquor include: The Dixie Chicks, The Fab Five, the B-52's, Naomi Judd, Tracy Morgan (SNL), Patti Labelle, Margaret Cho, RuPaul, Lipsynca, Jimmy James and Don Imus.

ABOUT the actor who plays Betty:

Biography

Born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1959. Graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1981 with a B.A. in English literature. Lived in Boston, Manhattan, Barcelona, Sitges and now reside in San Diego. Strangely enough, I earn a living as a software developer.
