My family just won the GRAND PRIZE in a Six Flags contest - 4 days/3 nights to any park in the USA! :excited:

It's only for 4 people though. :(

O. ;)

Thanks! Now that I moved to Rockville, MD from New Jersey, I have to find a job and don't have time to go on the trip. I'm happy for them though!

Wow...why don't I feel like myself? ;)

You're odd!

Ok, I guess I'll claim that statement. . .

(I'll preface this by saying my family is one of those "nothing exciting ever happens to us/we never win anything!" type of families.)
I was talking to my mom this afternoon and she got a call on the landline. I heard her squeal, then said to me "I'll call you back- we just won the grand prize!"

My brother had my parents, my sister and himself all fill out applications to win this prize. It's all expenses paid, including airfare and hotel. They get to choose any park location in the U.S. Now, the debate is going to get pretty fierce because my brother will want to choose the most exciting park, whereas my parents will want to choose the most attractive location to them (most likely Washington state or Denver).

In all honesty, this has got to be the most exciting day in my brother's life. He is the biggest roller coaster/theme park fan you could possibly imagine, and he's never riden on a plane (he's 12, and nor has my 19 yr. old sister).

I'm just upset that it's only for 4 people :weeping:

Congrats Opt! I knew it wasn't me I was talking about. It was you...but how did I know. It must have been my ESP, and my AIM was right on! :P

Congrats again...sounds awesome!

Hey, don't congratulate me. . . I don't get to go :weeping:

I am really ecstatic for them, though!

By the way, should you really be AIMing while on the job? :P

I think we have thoroughly confused people now...

...and yes, AIM is allowed at work. It's TNCR they should be worried about! Worse than crack! :leaving:

Ok...onto the beltway for my trip home, adios!

I'll never forget going to carnival when the kids were little and buying some raffle tickets for a quilt. The boys and Mark were off somewhere while I bought the tickets. Anyhow, the kids were probably about 6 and 9 yo at the time.

We got home that night and there was a message on our answering machine. A little old lady sounding super excited was yelling into the machine "MRS. LEE! YOU JUST WON FIRST PLACE!!! PLEASE CALL US RIGHT AWAY!!!!! AGAIN, MRS. LEE! YOU JUST WON FIRST PLACE. CALL US IMMEDIATELY!!!!"

Well the kids got all big eyes and starting jumping up and down. They were screaming "yeah! we won! we won!!!!" and then started asking "what did you win, Mom? A car? A trip? Money??????"

You should've seen the disappoint when I had to tell them I won a quilt.

It was sad.

Identifying narcissists isn't difficult. Just look for the person who is constantly fishing for compliments
and admiration while breaking down over even the slightest bit of criticism.

Well. Everyone around here has been changing avatars like most of us change underwear. I, on the other hand, have refused to follow the crowd and have tenaciously clung to Mr. Six as a symbol of consistency.

So.... is it time to retire Mr. Six??? or keep him???

Is it just my imagination, or is "Mr. Bond" turning into a threadkiller?
(I know, Kincaid claimed the title, but Bond seems to be doing a fine job of it) :veryangry:

George...I've always been a fan of the suburbs just outside Chicago. Plus Chicago is my favorite major U.S. metropolitan city.

I've only been there once, though. Ate at the underground pizza place where you can write on the walls.
