Anybody ever look at Woot!? (woot.com)

It's a website that has one item for sale per day. Each day, at midnight, CST, the item changes, and it's gone - forever. If it sells out before midnight, it's also gone - forever. One of the nice things about it is that there's TONS of crap you can look at, and usually at a good price.

Here's today's Woot!

Really Cheap Audio

We’d love to tell you that this RCA RT2390 500-Watt 5.1 Home Theater System is an elite audio masterpiece and an essential component of anybody’s home theater system. We’d love to lavish praise on its sturdily-constructed, immaculate-sounding speakers. We’d love to assure you that RCA’s legacy of high-quality products is just as strong as ever. We’d love to compare the RCA RT2390 favorably to the sound system at your local multiplex, and insist that it will utterly transform the way you think about home audio.
We’d also love to play second base for the St. Louis Cardinals. Man, that would be awesome.
But we’re bound by reality and the Federal Trade Commission to level with you about the one true selling point of the RCA RT2390 System: it’s a really cheap way to get 5.1 surround sound. Yeah, it sounds decent thanks to 5.1 Dolby Digital, ProLogic II, 100-watt center channel and subwoofer, and 75-watt satellites. It’s got loads of inputs for your home theater components, and it doesn’t look half-bad.
But the only way you’ll get 500 watts out of this thing is to endure an awful lot of distortion along the way. And yeah, the RCA name has changed hands so many times that it’s basically meaningless (sorry, Nipper). If money is no issue – if, say, gold runs out of your nose instead of snot, and buying a better system is just a matter of honking a few extra droplets into a Kleenex – you should probably go buy something else. Those of us who produce regular old mucus will have to be content with a semi-decent surround-sound system for eighty bucks.

How can you not love a desription like that?

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

Logitech Bluetooth Headphone for MP3
$29.99

Wires And Clothing Optional

If you’re anything like us, you prefer to do your calisthenics in the nude.[ It’s the only way to fly, as they say. But there’s one problem: where do you put your MP3 player? You don’t have any pockets when you’re in the buff, and your body’s natural “pockets” aren’t really suited to the job. Sure, you could strap your player to a bodily appendage, but once you put that on, you’re not really nude in our book. Does the electronics industry have nothing to offer the naked digital music listener?

We suspect somebody at Logitech shares our naturalist predilections, because their Bluetooth Headphones are the perfect accessory for our exercices au naturel. It connects wirelessly via a Bluetooth dongle to any audio device with a headphone jack, sending clear, crisp, blue, toothy audio up to 30 feet away. Integrated controls let you adjust the volume or mute tracks right there from the ‘phones. And with rechargeable batteries running for up to 8 hours on one charge, your body will wear out long before the headphones do.

So take it all off. Turn it all the way up. Let it all hang out. And work out the way the ancient Greeks would have, if the ancient Greeks had known how to digitally encode audio.

Never bought anything there, but since my brother told me about it last month, I do take a peek sometime during most days!

(craigslist.... now that's another story.)
