I am so adjective that I verb nouns!

So if they put an OMB number on the 2006 1040 then it's no longer fraudulent?

It is not permitted to legally have an OMB number. |

Does the defense allege that the IRS fabricated an OMB number (invalid) for the 1040 rather than go through the process of applying for one? I don't understand why it is illegal to have an OMB number. Why can't the OMB issue one to the IRS? |

So how exactly does the IRS lack bona fide statutory authority or conflict with the Constitution? |

See how little everyone knows about all of this? There is no statutory authority. That is what is being put forth. We are making inroads into this area and I will not be surprised to see a major change in our form of taxation within my lifetime. One can only hope. That most of you are not outraged by our method of taxation in this country is the real mystery to me. |

We can only hope, Mark. I know the argument that the IRS does not have statutory authority and there are a number of folks sitting in federal prisons believing that is so. I have never seen the merits of the case. The Dept of Treasury was established by Congress in 1789, the IRS in 1862 under the Revenue Act. Both are in conformance with the Constitution and the 16th Amendment. The Ohio statehood issue is interesting, but hardly compelling enough for me to risk not paying my country club dues. |
