What is interesting about this is that I know of no other change in leadership of a religious denomination, including the change in Popes a little over a year ago, where it is covered by raising the question of what impact it will have on the domestic policy and the politics of the United States. Seems to say a lot about how most religious denominations handle their participation in the public square compared to how the Baptists do. |
