No bear substitute Apparently, PETA don't like the fact that the British Guards regiments use real bear skin for their silly hats. Actually, they're not that silly, since they commemorate another magnificant victory over the filthy little Corsican upstart way-back-when, but I digress. The Brits can't find a substitute that'll keep PETA happy and also retain it's good upstanding British quality, and hence keep endless queues of Japanese and American tourists amused, and more importantly, spending their money. Personally, I think they should have told PETA to take a running jump. I've got nothing against bears, but if this is all they've got to protest about, they should probably go out and get a proper job like the rest of us, particularly since no bear dies in order to provide the head-gear in the first place. The bear's already dead, so it's not going to get cold, is it?
Oh yes. |

How about substituting PETA skin? Many of their armpits are just as hairy. |

(very, very politically incorrect joke) Q: Why do women fake orgasms? A: They think we care. |
