I never thought the English were the worst divers. Not as bad as the Italians, anyway. |

Random FML: Today, I was fired by my boss in front of my coworkers. It would have been nice if I could have left the building before they started celebrating. FML The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D | |

Holland - Serbia & Montenegro is starting in a couple minutes. Should be a good match. |

Holland won 1-0. Van Der Sar made a couple mistakes, but they still won. |

Yeah I agree, the English aren't the worst. There are other countries that put a little more drama into their dives. Better acting coaches, maybe.

I hope Angola win. I hate the Portugal team (another bunch of cheaters). Last world cup, they tried to convince Korea to not try to win in their game (a draw would have meant Portugal and Korea went through to the second round). Korea played for the win, and beat Portugal, so USA and Korea went through. Portugal went home, as they deserved to do. |

Yeah, I wonder if there's a holocaust museum there? Actually I hope Iran beat Mexico. I can't stand that team either (which the USA regularly beats), and I can't stand their coach. Obnoxious seems to be a requirement for coaching the Mexican team. |

Thanks for the reminder. I knew there was something ugly about the Portugal team in the last cup, but couldn't remember what it was all about. Another reason to cheer on Angola. |

Mexico wins 3-1. Iran seemed to have run out of gas (no pun intended). Mexico looks better organised this year. |

With Sweden not winning yesterday, England are practically through to the next round. It would be great if Dwight Yorke and company could beat England, but I don't see it happening. |

Mexico is a good team. More organized than I've seen them in a long time. The only reason the US beats them almost every time, is they hate us, which makes them play dirty. I would say Angola have a shot against Mexico, but it's unlikely. Their group, IMO, will end up as follows : - 1) Portugal - 2) Mexico - 3) Iran - 4) Angola [My prediction is pretty meaningless because it's based on watching each team play once in this WC, and whoever goes through will be playing either Holland or Argentina in their first match of the next round. Neither Mexico or Portugal can beat either of those teams] |
