Q: How many Tenors does it take to change a light bulb?

A: One. He stands and holds the light bulb, and the world revolves around him.

The two rules for being a tenor:

1) The tenor part is ALWAYS the melody.
2) All instructions from the director are to be interpreted as, "Sing louder."

(Apple, you're so lucky. Everyone should have a tenor.)

:sing:

Hmmm....the tenor voice prof at my school sure holds true to those two, and the World-revolves-around-me thing. I really dislike his personality. A friend of mine also has that attitude, and he's only a tenor in the choir! He is a trumpet major, though, so maybe that has something to do with his super-inflated musical ego  I never thought of that. A trumpet major AND a tenor. WOW.

And how are you today?

I am a humble tenor in my church choir. I am happy to support the Soprano and Alto parts and am glad they usually have to begin before we do. I also like it when the men sing in unison - helps me learn the music that much faster.
Kincaid - disgusted Republican Partisan since 2006.

hmm...yes..

I have been switched from sop to alto many times in our choir. I asked our director, and he said that he basically needs a better alto section. They do tend to be on the sucky side...
And how are you today?

As a tenor, I am deeply offended by the characterization of tenors as self-centered. I am not self-centered, I don't care what anyone says, and I should know!

I have my own tenor toooooooo.

OT...isn't it funny, the tenor and sop jokes are all the same. All about empty space for resonance, vanity and loose morals. I guess I can understand how that has happened. (chuckle)

same here.... sop to alto

Altos needed a boost. Sometimes being able to sight read is a curse.
I'd rather fall into chocolate.

:D

However....

Sops have a different light bulb joke:

Q: How many sopranos does it take to change a light bulb?

A: Two. One stands on a ladder, and the other stands next to her and asks, "Excuse me, dear, isn't that a little high for you?"

:sombrero:
