I've seen loads of these things but this is probably the best I reckon:

Just stare at the dot for 30 seconds.

Then, without moving your eyes, move the mouse over the image.

It will look like it's in color until you move your eyes.)

I love it....in fact, I'm on a hunt for this sort of thing if anyone wants to help me out. I'm interested in any accessible examples (not too technical or academic in nature, I'm using them with kids) of how our brains fill in missing information(right information, or as in the case of this example, wrong information). One item in my stash of examples is that paragraph in which everything is misspelt but the first and last letters of each word so it doesn't have to be a graphic example.
