I think it would be nice to see pictures that people have taken. Not of yourself or your family, but rather pictures of your pets, or sunsets, during travels, action shots, etc. :)

I'll start, I'm definitely not a great photographer like some of you in here, but every now and then, nature will do the work for me and I'll be lucky enough to grab a camera. I took this picture from my balcony two days ago...I thought it was a nice view after a long day of work...

Another sunset photo. This is of Venice from a vaparetto to Lido in 2003, on the trip my wife and I got to know each other. Wonderful memories.

Oh heck, more while I'm at it!

This is the garden of the Bishop's wife's residence in Salzburg, from the same trip. The family looks like they could be a modern-day Von Trapp family.

Also from the same trip, this is the north end of Riva del Garda looking south:

Yeah, Liam's in it. It's a parental job hazzard. I'm not sure when I last took a photo he wasn't in (unless it was by accident cause he ran out of the frame :P )

MP, I think your photography is really great. You should seriously consider pursuing this as more than a hobby.

DD, that dragonfly pic is incredible. I cropped it with just the left wings and background showing and it will make a great framed print.

Ya think? Sometimes i feel like i'm just clarting around. :P Thankyou. My camera is quite a decent one for holidays and day outs but it's no-where near good enough if i wanted to do it more seriously. And i can't really afford to trade it in any time soon. :silly:

Something to think about for the future maybe.

Don't mean to hi-jack this thread but here is a (poor) photo of a couple of prints I have a collection of. Can anyone guess the medium used?

Hmmm... very hard to tell... kindof looks like it could be water based pencils...

But then, some of the colours seem quite strong...

Butterfly wings?

Bingo!!!

I didn't think it would be that easy to guess.

I have about 25 of these prints, all of different African birds and animals, by 5 different artist in the Rupublic of Congo.

It is your eyes and mind that make the pictures, not so much the equipment. I think that you could be a pretty good photographer. Just don't be self critical, just let your inner self show through.

I really like your beach picture, MP. Something very 'charged' about it. Made me want to stare at it a long time, and get lost in it. Good stuff, hope you keep it up.
