Now the muslims are at it as well as the Christians.

Indian protests at DV Code

Starving yourself to death because of a movie? What gives?

What is it about the word 'fiction' that these people don't understand?

And where the hell were the protests over the movie Where Eagles Dare? That film shows a bloody German helicopter in one scene!!!! Excuse me, but that is a vicious and bitter smear against the Bell corporation, which certainly didn't provide the Wermacht with anything like this. In fact, the counter-rotating, inter-meshing rotor didn't even exist in 1944! If you're going to starve yourself to death, at least have the common decency to do it over something worthwhile.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
I have wondered for some time now how Islam can revere Jesus the Jew as a prophet and still call for the elimination of all Jews. What's up with that?

I had a job offer last week to manage a software project in India for a few months. I declined, and even had I accepted it this would have killed the deal.

I guess the Indian Catholics at least have the decency to only kill themselves.

The Hindu majority must be having a right old laugh. Milk allegedly coming out of statues of Ganesh has got nothing on this load of silliness.

It their way of getting attention. It worked.

...But what if Jesus of Nazareth was married? His strong ties to Judaism and Judean culture would suggest that he in fact was betrothed.

It still wouldn't bother me as much as that anachronistic 1944 Nazi helicopter.

not to open up too big a can of worms, but if in the middle ages, christians didnt have a problem persecuting jews, then i dont see why it should be a such a theological problem for islam.

strong ties? maybe one might say....only ties? (although to be strictly geographical, he was more galilelan then judean. although they were all ethnically jews, the galileans were definately more provincial, had different accents, and were seen as hicks)

but that doesnt necessarily mean he had a woman. i mean, i guess even then there were bachelors with jewish mothers nagging them about finding a nice jewish girl. and they just roll their eyes and say yes mom.

HOLY CARP!!!
I saw a billboard for the movie.
At the top it said, "SEEK THE TRUTH".

Considering all the flap about the movie I'm surprised they used that phrase.
It seems to fan the fire.

You don't suppose Sony know that this flap will translate into ticket sales, do you?
They wouldn't stoop that low to make money.
Would they?

I saw Tom Hanks interviewed and he was very keen on downplaying all the fuss, and said it's just supposed to be a bit of fun.

Of course, he is that rarest of beasts, a celebrity with a functioning brain.
