Mmmmmmm, pie!
|
Let me explain what you're about to hear. The other day I found an old tape from 20+ years ago. Me and a few friends had stopped into this bar and I ended up getting drunk. The bar had a piano player and a drummer. The piano was an old Cable grand, if I remember correctly, about 6', beat all to heck - played like a truck and was way out of tune. In the floor by the pedals was a set of Crugar bass pedals (like the bass pedals off a small organ). They talked me into playing the piano. I could hardly sit on the bench, but I got up and started improvising. The drummer got up and started playing along with me, and I was playing the bass pedals too... after a few minutes, I started getting into it..... and someone put a boom box recorder over near the piano. Now... I've never uploaded mp3 files before, so I hope I did it right. And remember when you hear me screw up - I was blistered... (there are several more on the tape I found. I'm singing on a few..... http://www.filelodge.com/files/room26/7039...rovisation1.mp3 |

Random FML: Today, I was fired by my boss in front of my coworkers. It would have been nice if I could have left the building before they started celebrating. FML The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D | |

Finally
|
I consider myself an average intermediate/advanced intermediate player. Given enough time, I can learn some pretty good stuff. My problem is that I don't have a creative bone in my body. To hear improvisation like that, so spontaneous, and so alive makes me furious. I know I'll never be able to do that and it's only with great jealousy that I tip the hat to you. Amazing. Oh, as was said above - post more. If you have something longer I'll put it on my iPod and play it at work. Get the surgeons moving faster.

That's the kind of jazz/blues improv stuff I'm starting to work on... but at warp speed by comparison. Great stuff, L! If you play like that drunk... jeezz... If you'll excuse me, I have to go slit my wrists now. |
