So if the anonymous moderator is John D'Oh, then who's John D'Oh? If he's anonymous, then who's himself?

actually john d'oh IS the anonymous moderater.

that's the beauty of it.

we all think john is the john moderater when in reality he is the anonymous moderater. this way, when we fire john for his lousy judgement calls, he will still be in place by virtue of his anonymous position.

brilliant ploy john.

but u didnt fool old bachophile.

Bach, someone has banned you.

So I'm guessing there's a way to give a person the moderator capabilities without having the tag "moderator" appear under the name?

EDIT- nevermind, I see there is a separate screen name for the anonymous mod.

OK, I resign. It's bad enough having all these confusing blinken' lights in the new MODERATORS CONSOLE OF POWER, but all the hard questions are killing me.

Jgoo, what does the button with a big picture of a nucleur bomb and the words 'DO NOT PUSH' on it do?

Hmmmm... I think you got it wrong, John ol' boy. The button actually says "DO NOT SHUSH." I think it means laissez-faire moderators are good moderators.

I like your 'alternative' moderating style. It's quite effective.

I've informed Jgoo that I only really have one rule. No French words. If there is really no alternative, and you wish to use a word or phrase that is French, it should be spelt phonetically, and have a 'SPOILER - FRENCH' alert at least thirty lines above it, so that those of us who aren't blessed with strong stomachs can prepare ourselves accordingly.

Lay-say-fare.

I wanted to implement the same rules for the Welsh language, but research has shown that there is no known way of writing Welsh phonetically.

Ten bucks says Rick is first on the chopping block. (I'm prob'ly in line somewhere, though.)

I suspect I am the safest one with 89th. Any move against me would be seen as indicative of a political agenda to his moderating.

Besides, 89th is the one I would have suggested when everyone was talking about having one of the top posters as moderator. Over the past month or so, 89th has definitely altered his posting style. I have noticed it if no one else has and I have appreciated it.

I appreciate that Rick. And you're strategically smart, too: Just how Tony Snow will probably cite CNN and MSNBC far before he cites FoxNews, just to show he's being fair.

So you are about as safe as a Republican in Oklahoma. :D
