I've purposefully sat and watched from the beginning over at the WTF and here. I too believed this member's posts to be atypical, sometimes odd, yet at times funny. I too suspected something trollish. Seeing a young member here inspired to post something provocative made me sad. But it made me think too. We have to watch for these things. To be aware. I'm thinking I should have PM'd this young member first and expressed my concerns re what she posted. But I didn't. IMO, in addition to the presence of an excellent moderator, we too need to moderate ourselves.

![]() Larry, it's good to know you're on our side. ![]() You could honestly bring out any forum - WTF, PW, or other forums you might find on the net - but nothing, and I mean NOTHING could rival the sheer knowledge base we have here. On every topic, you can find a plethora of answers and opinions. We have some of the wittiest, most intelligent members in all of cyberspace, and I feel confident we could address (and win) any debate on any topic. Then again, I'm just competitive. ![]() Think about it...what other forum has had a debate on "Round vs. Square"? |

me too. anyhow, I can't say what I think. This thread prompted me to visit WTF for the first time in a long time. What I read was very disturbing. I probably will never go back. Aside to Larry: Thank you. I'm fine. |

No. And I'm not going to discuss it. What I'm thinking isn't very pleasant. |

Could we not turn this into a WTF vs. TNCR thing? Please? Because its not. This is about an individual who (whether she meant to or not) has caused a bit of a dust-up in both places. There are those of us who enjoy both of these boards, and who get kind of unhappy when one gets pitted against the other. Jodi

Well, I'm sorry, but Larry's right. Sharon sucks. She came over here with the intent to be manipulative, and then to talk about us later with others in WTF. Heck if I care, since I don't think I've said more than two words to her while she's here, but no way am I gonna buy she's "a nice person". |

I'm late as usual. I agreed with Larry's initial post. If Sharon is innocent of anything other than rudeness or bad judgment, then it might become evident over some time, but if you want to be part of a community, you have to comply with some community norms. Around here, those norms stretch pretty far and I thought Larry did an accurate job of setting out the apparent lapses or transgressions. I do not see this as a TNCR/WTF dust-up. Sharon has left a trail of disruption in both places. She could become a respected member of either or both, but right now, if she sincerely wants to be part of either community, she would serve her own interests by posting less and reading more. Now, don't Bogart that thing, AC. Everyone could stand to chill a little. Big Al |

Oh, an occasional WTF vs TNCR dust-up gets the juices flowing a mite...but I don't think this is one of those things. I think we've all been used... |

Did anyone else notice a similarity in posting style to someone who's puppy bought the farm a while back? My alarm bells started going off as soon as I saw the first couple of posts, to be honest. Of course, she might be who she says she is, but the level of discourse didn't exactly jump to Olympian levels last weekend, did it? |

Yep. I was a little bit late to the party, but I saw it, but didn't post for the same reason I think many others didn't post. However, I do think we need to watch ourselves a little more carefully in the future dealing with younger members, and we also need to have a bit more of single standard rather than the double that's been in place when dealing with the young ladies and the young men. |

Hmmmm... Well, I just read this thread and had no idea such a controversy was brewing. (This is what I get for not have much time to spend here to read most of the posts, I guess) The only question I have is.... Who gives a damn? Life is too short and there are far better things to get all riled up about. I don't understand why this sort of thing gets people so worked up. Go do something constructive instead of worrying about minor offenses in cyber space. Sheesh! Such a waste of energy! |

wow. thanks, larry. i don't understand why MP's picture was a big deal. provocative, yes. harmful...not really. she was clothed, and over the legal age to post such things in her country. i thought it was a nice, artsy model picture. and why all this ganging up on the young members? i don't understand. what have we done? i think ALL members need to look out for eachother. |
