I still think Dol would be best. Someone who is controversial or confrontational is a poor choice. 89th, you have to admit, you can be both of those, from time to time. And John, I think the weight of moderator-ship would have a negative effect on your posts; the greater good suggests that you stay as you are.

Unless you're willing to do it, why discourage someone else who is?

It's up to jgoo to decide in any case.

Personally, I think anyone who is willing is welcome to the job, at least, temporarily until we find someone permanent.

Any other volunteers??????

It's really not all that tough or all that time consuming. I've probably made it more difficult than it really is.

Come to think of it, Improv would probably be pretty good too. Someone with a sense of humor.

Sorry Improv. :silly:

Hmmm ...
Dol.
Good choice.
But does she want to do it?
After all, she's a busy girl ... working ... a mom ... in love ... busy ... all that ;) :D
Does she want this stress?

Objectivity is important.
I like the anonymous rotating group idea.
Young and old. Male/Female. Right/Left/Middle. Virginal/Content/Lacking ...

All that.

;) :D

Dol would be good -- but so would 89th. I'd even trust you, Quirt, or Larry. Maybe it would get you both to clean up your potty mouths.

Because they might be bad at it. Anyone confrontational doesn't have the right skill set. Do you encourage your 6 year-old to drive to the mall, if you don't feel like driving and he's willing to do it?

I believe I could be trusted, but I am sure that there are others who would not trust me in that role. And, given posting history, I can't say that I'd blame them for reaching that conclusion, because all they know of me is my posts. The same is true for others. A quick trigger finger (which some have said that they would have in that role) is not what's needed.
It would be unwise to underestimate what large groups of ill-informed people acting together can achieve. -- John D'Oh, January 14, 2010.

Quirt, I'd trust you too. I think I'd trust just about everyone. Though we may disagree amongst each other, I don't think that could/should affect fairness.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

Trust? Who said anything about trust?

 Nope!

Never goes away, either; I see references every now and again.
I cite irreconcilable differences.
