You didn't go see Liberace's pianos? That's a must for us Coffee Roomers. Believe it or not, Vegas is more family oriented now than when I was a kid. I still don't like going there, but I make up for it by shopping (GREAT shopping in Vegas, ladies) and dining (great wining and dining if you want to spend the money). Anyway you look at it, Vegas is a big money pit. |

Interesting post, thanks Rick. I've been there once for a buddy's wedding. I read a book on how to play blackjack on the plane and ended up winning $300 though in retrospect that was just luck (even if you know how to play the odds are still slightly against you). I enjoyed my time there, since I'm more or less not offendable by any normal means. I'm not the first to say this surely but it is an adult amusement park with lots and lots of money poured into making it an enjoyable (or addicting) experience. Surely there's something there that most people can find to like. The luxor steak house is inexpensive and wonderful! In fact if one doesn't gamble, it is probably the best place in the world to go in terms of bang for buck if you're just after food and drinks and relaxation. You can take advantage of all the infrastructure meant to make it an enticing and fun place (so people gamble more there) and avoid the real "payment" by not losing at the slots. |
| As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good? | |

I really don't like the place either, yet I seem to go fairly often, mostly because a group of old friends now scattered around the country decide to meet there for a weekend - its either go or miss the reunion. I agree with your post Rick. I have heard that theres plenty to do for families though. I stayed at the Manadaly bay on my last visit. I've also stayed at the Venetian and the Bellagio. They are impressive in many ways and very large. I'm also not a big gambler. THere are some very nice restaurants, some with legendary wine lists. |
| In my defense, I was left unsupervised. | |
