Hey Sharon, you know me from wtf, but I'll add some info here. I'm 37-year old brooklynite (transplanted form manhattan in 2003). I have a lovely and talented wife with whom I am celebrating a 5th anniversary later this month. I work for an investment bank, developing trading and risk systems for its derivatives business. Half of my team is in London, so I go there about one week a month. As these fora are blocked from work, I don't post the weeks I'm away. Regarding piano, I am an adult starter, although I grew up around a piano and my father is/was a very accomplished amateur pianist. I was self-taught until last year, when I found an amazing teacher in Brooklyn through Chris Quinn, a PW veteran who no longer posts there but occasionally makes appearances at WTF. I found PW about a year and a half ago while shopping for a piano. I still post there occasionally, usually in the Pianists Corner but sometimes in the Piano Forum as well. I'm also one of those who hops back and forth beween WTF and TNCR. Regarding politics, I'm a fiscal conservative and social liberal, so GWB could be said to represent my worst political nightmare. Today I identify most closely with the Bob Rubin branch of the democratic party. But I have voted for Republicans in the past, and could conceivably do so again if the Rockefeller branch ever resurrects itself. Regarding religion, I am an agnostic in philosophy but an atheist in practice. My wife is a recovering Jew. (btw - I am no fan of the major western religions and it shows in my posts.) Welcome to the forum! |
| In my defense, I was left unsupervised. | |

I am a roving gambler, how do you do? Oh, I am a cook and a captian bold and mate of the Nancy brig. Has anyone here seen Kelly? Hi, Sharon! I live in Mexico but I am moving to Texas in 2 weeks to start college. Hence my low posting average lately. I like to consider myself as someone who can draw and paint, but it's probably only vanity. . . I have been playing piano for a bit over a year (self-taught) but I'm starting piano lessons this summer. Schindler |

you kind of know me from WTF.. (my sign is the treble clef) Let's see- i'll be 50 in a couple days.. i have 3 children; 6, 8, and 11 and a husband with a couple companies that i help run - it's actually alot of work. We have a couple acres that i landscape and mow. I just inherited a choir/ensemble to keep alive this coming year while our director is on school sabbatical. I've accompanied them for 3 yrs and also substitute/play the organ or piano in other churches. I also have 7 piano students. I used to be an artist and o often write silly poetry. At one time i was a legal secretary at a patent law firm. I'm in love with Bach.. just adore learning his music. |

Yes, apple. I know you. You told me about this place. Still hanging around...a lot too see... never enough time for everything.... Oh it's treble clef? - I called it G Clef - (I guess that's the same thing). You're major interesting....major busy, too. You know I'm a legal secretary, too. Maritime/Aviation law, some patent...real estate... being a floating secretary, I have my hands in a lot of stuff.... keeps it interesting....yet not "married" to one particular boss or specialization (which suits me just fine). I do so like all these smilies. Let me pick an outrageous one now....hmmm, let's see.... how about this one... - because you are an artist. just another one, cause it's cool. Thanks for saying hi! Hi jon. Yup, I know you, too. Regarding religion, I'm a born again Christian. I refer to myself as Messianic - a believer that Christ is the Messiah (which he is). I am half-Jewish (father is Catholic, mother is Jewish). I was brought up in the Jewish faith, though not religious, just of convenience, you know, just like Catholics. Not really religious, but celebrates Christmas, Easter, etc. Major holidays, major family get-togethers. Always, wondered about my non-jewish half of my heritage, and when I found my biological father, he turned out to be one supercool guy. Have other siblings, too. After 9/11 I became born again... long story... I used to really be on fire for the Lord.... lately I slip back into the goings on of the world more often than I should... but what the heck - it's fun. I do read my bible and it gives me comfort. I will be the first to say that I am a hypocrite - so don't ask me why I post up naughty things if I am born again. The answer is I am a hyprocrite..... but I do know the Lord and HE does give me strength - strength enough to post this as an answer to who I am, regardling religion. I'm not a very political minded person - I know what I know and am open to opinions and learning other things.... and that's about it. Not very exciting.... Hope to engage more in this forum.... Peace. <_< |

54, we are all hypocrites. We are all bigots. Just some of us admit, and some don't. I have found over the last year or two, is it's far more important to focus on your own life, struggles, and sins...than to worry about others. Of course, that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to help others stay accountable. |
