The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D

What form of disassociation would enable a kid to even consider such a thing?

When I was in 1st grade, Mrs. Ranker (a man-business woman) put me out in the hallway for something or another. I think I hit another kid who badly needed it. I was highly pissed at having been wronged so mightily that I plotted out making a bomb that looked like one of those pink/red recess balls and putting it under her desk.

After it went off they never disciplined me again. That was my last bodily harm revenge plot, ever.

HOLY CARP!!!
When I was in 7th grade, some kids were talking about "killing all the Jews" at my school on the 1st day of Passover which was also the anniversary of Hitler's death (or birth, I don't remember).

Evidently it was a serious threat, because we even had "gun drills" during the weeks before - the principal would go on the PA and announce something silly like "Would Neil Armstrong please report to the office to pick up his yellow folder", and then we would line up against the wall (out of view from the door window), the teachers would lock the doors and turn off the lights, and if you were in the hallway at the time you were supposed to run into the nearest classroom before the doors locked.

Half the student body didn't show up that day (even though there were only like 20 Jews out of 1500 students...), and nothing happened.

We could not do that. The real Neil Armstrong's kid went to my school.

I went to HS with the father of one of the Columbine victims. I got along with the guy (the father) fine, but he was a total ***hole, and bully who made life miserable for lots of kids.
