Ok, I expect to hear crickets... Anyway, I didn't watch until tonight. I thought it's a very wholesome show, and a good premise for a reality show. I was highly disappointed Mark didn't win tonight though. I thought his Sackmaster© was the best, and most practical. Anyone else? |

HOLY CARP!!!

I watched. I was surprised Mark didn't win because I did like his invention. But, I did like Erik better as a person. Also, our oldest son played a lot of sports. Mostly baseball. He was a catcher and I know my STBXX spent mucho dollars on all kinds of goofy equipment to make him better. So, we do see a market for Erik's invention. Anyhow, I was happy for Erik. I imagine Mark will still get "approached" by someone with big bucks and will still make out okay. |

I agree that Mark's invention was the most practical, and perhaps another company will buy the idea. But if I were a judge, Erik's presentation style, and story would have convinced me more that he deserved to go on. Maybe it will be like American Idol, and others from the show will be offered contracts. |

I didn't watch but was the winner the inventor of a new gee whiz roman candle with lights and action sex toy? |

Action is always better for a sex toy. At least that would seem most intuitive since I have zero actual experience with sex toys. (Heading the smart asses off at the pass, so to speak) |

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
|
I liked both Eric's heart and his Catch Vest. I thought Mark's loss was totally predictable and totally hubris. But from a practical aspect, let me put it this way. How many home owners keep sand around just in case of flooding? Without sand, this product is useless. Now I could see some municipalities might want one or two of these but I just don't see them selling more than a few thousand of them nationwide. Once you've saturated the market you are done. The College Board Guide to High Schools, Third Edition (2001) lists 27140 high schools, every school in the United States, Puerto Rico, and territories. I'd bet most of them have a football program, and Eric's vest seems to me to be a good training tool. If you add into that junior high schools, middle schools and Pop Warner type programs, you could sell, and continue to sell, a fair amount of these things. It is a niche market to be sure, but maybe a viable one. The Inbrella was just absurd. It looked like a Nerf Bat. I though the guy with Bullet Ball was going to go postal on them. |
