One votes for what is right.

Except for kenny, who's not quite sold on that concept of right, yet.....

I just understand that "right" applies to only one person - me.

So do you think we should abolish all laws?

Do you think that murder should not be illegal, because what is "right" is determined by each individual?

Do you think that theft should not be illegal?

Do you think that rape should not be illegal, because a rapist might think it is alright for him?

Those are easy ones. . . No!

Why?

What makes those laws universally "right", if what is right and wrong is just personal opinion?

Very wide agreement of many personal opinions.

(I didn't say "unversally "right")

I'd say there is enough agreement to give it critical mass.

Wide agreement of many opinions.

That's just another way to say "groupism", Kenny, which is in Kennyland(tm) a bad thing.

Either right applies to more that just "me", or it is all subjective and the group is wrong to dictate your morality.

I don't see how you can have it both ways.
The dogma lives loudly within me.

If everyone agreed, the laws would not be necessary.

Obviously, there are people who believe murder, theft, and rape are alright (they are called murderers, thieves, and rapists).

Why should we impose our beliefs on them, just because they are a minority?

Yes, I DO want it both ways.

No to murder.

Yes to equal access to marriage.

Double standard indeed.

So why do you jump on other people so critically (calling them "bigots," for example) for also wanting it both ways?

OK, thanks for clearing that up.

Not necessarily true. Many criminals would admit that what they are doing is morally wrong, they just don't care enough, or see no alternative way to get what they want.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?
