Correction, there is a Paris Illinois, near Terre Haute. I'd choose almost anywhere in California over that. |

Paris! Why, well because of the different culture, the history, the art, the language! I would think studying in Paris would be such an eye-opening, life changing experience. But I guess my perspective from way over here is probably different than yours. California probably sounds pretty exotic to you!Studying what? |

I'm considering going to either Kings College London or the Imperial College London to do a masters in physics and in the third year, at KCL you can choose to take a year abrouad to study in either the University of California or Illinois, or ICL, you can choose a european country with which you have some grasp of the language (they require at least grade B at GCSE). It's just deciding which one appeals more! x |

I think what IT is getting at is Paris, Illinois would be two out of three. |

Paris.. definitely. I had a girlfriend who was born and lived in Paris until she was 12 or 13. She would lapse into speaking French at the most opportune moments. Mon Dieu, tellement très chaud! |

Not that bad, actually. Plus, eventually i would like to work at CERN, so developing my French now (and hopefully becoming fluent) would be something i would LOVE to do. I think it's between Paris and California....with Paris in the lead by a small margin. ![]() x |

If I spoke good French, I'd choose Paris without a second thought. If I didna speekee da lingo, mate, I'd opt for California for the weather and the whole West Coast thing, unless you think you might get massively homesick, cos it's a long way back for a quick visit. Illinois would still be great fun - living anywhere foreign is an adventure. |

Being homesick wouldn't be an issue. Plus, the thing with the Paris option - in my first two years in London, whilst studying physics, i would also have french lectures to get me up to scratch... It's really exciting! x |
