Do you believe that the media is to blame for the rising public opposition to the war in Iraq, as members of the Bush administration claim?

I wouldn't be surprised to see the poll swing the other way as it becomes known to the Right. Nobody on the Right goes to CNN unless they need to.

Edit - If Michael Savage mentions it on his program tonight CNN's website will shut down from 20,000 or so votes swinging it the other way. Anyway, what a retarded way to do a poll. Not exactly a cross-section of likely voters, is it?

Lou Dobbs. There's a coincidence. I watched his programme for the first time this week. I don't think I want to repeat the experience. Every single letter he read out at the end of the show was completely anti-Bush. Now I'm no big fan of Johnny W. Bumbler, but it looked a little one-sided even to my somewhat jaundiced eyes. Whatever happened to objectivity in the media? Do they really think we're so stupid that we don't notice, or do they just assume the only people who watch are those seeking affirmation of their own opinions? If you never listen to people you don't agree with, how you are expected to learn anything?
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

Finally
Christopher Hitchens on the media today:

CH: I'll just tell you something a very senior person at a well-known network. I know this sounds a bit odd, but I just can't tell you who he is or which network. I don't have the right to do it. But you'll have to believe me, okay?

HH: Okay.

CH: He called me the other day. This is not a guy who's in any way a conservative, and said you know, we've known each other for a bit. He said you know, I'm beginning to think you must be right, because it really worries me what we're doing, when we are giving the other side the impression that all they need to do is hang on until the end of this administration. Do people know what they're doing when they're doing this? One doesn't have to make any allegation of disloyalty, but just...if it worries him, as it really does, I think it should worry other people, too, and it certainly worries me.

As you've said before, John, Hitch is about as far left as they come. He calls himself a Trotskyite. Nevertheless, this is an interesting comment.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

I used to watch Lou. I thought his show and after-segment analysis and chat was a nice change. Then I realized he did that every time and it got old quickly. Didn't know about his uberi-anti-Bush stuff though...
