Boy, so far, Dad is just screwed! My folks divorced when I was in sixth grade. My Dad loves me, but never showed it much before or after. My Mom sacrificed for me and our entire family and I respect her more than just about anyone. |

I'll always be Daddy's girl, even though he's been gone for over 23 years. I love my mother dearly and she is a wonderful grandmother (the only grandparent my kids have). We don't relate with each other very well. |

I didn't vote because it's hard to say. Growing up I was definitely closer to my dad but now it's a toss up. I'm close to both. |

ZOOOOOM!

It's real hard for me to say because my parents and I are polar opposites, so we don't relate very well often times (okay, pretty much all the time. ), but I had to go with my Dad. Similar interests, and easier to talk to.

Dad's been dead for 20 years, so Mom's my answer now. But, it was Dad for trouble that was (or might become) physical. Mom for trouble that was (or might become) emotional. |

If I had to pick one I'd say Mom. I'm much more similar in personality to my Dad, though, so I think I connect with each parent in different ways, but fairly equally. |

I would say the distance is equal now that they are both in heaven. Seriously I was much much much closer to my father. We were two peas in a pod as far as temperament, talent, and sense of humor. We both saw the glass half full. My mom and I clashed a lot until I moved into my 30s, then we talked like sisters. Both my parents died in 1996 - the year I turned 40. |

My mom, definitely. My dad and I are two totally different people. I've said for several years that I don't think my father would like me very much if I wasn't his daughter. That said, my dad and I do get along ok, and we've done some fun stuff together. When I was 12, I learned how to Scuba dive. My dad was an assistant instructor. When I was certified, my mother was still diving. Our first dive trip as a family, my mother realized that she was horrible at it (my father and I would have used the word "dangerous") and she stopped doing it. My dad and I took weekend trips together (often without my mum) to dive. When I married my ex, my dad got the son he'd always wanted. They are still extremely close, and spend tonnes of time together. My dad and I say maybe 50 words to each other a month. |

I nulled my vote. I've posted on here before about my relationship with my father. I was very close to my mother as well. In many ways, I was more like my mother, yet always wanted to be more like my father. It's amazing, how in the middle of the day it hits me how much my actions and words are so similar to theirs. |
