ZOOOOOM!
Y'know, I can find sources which show what Bush stands for, and issue-by-issue, I disagree with about half his policies and/or opinions. It just so happens that it's this half I care deeply about, and the other half I agree with I don't have any strong ties to.

However, I can say without doubt that I personally have experienced NO noticeable change when Bush was sworn in. Meaning, I can't point to any change in my life where I could say "yep, this is because Bush is in office, this is from something he did."

How about the rest of you? Can you say you've been directly affected by changing presidents through the years? Am I just not knowledgeable or observant with what our nation's leaders are doing? Not to be cynical or callous, but for this, I don't count keeping the country safe and not having terrorist attacks, because you can't say for certain we'd have one if Bush weren't in office. I'm just talking about DIRECT influence.

EDIT
Strike that. I know of one thing a president has done that's had a direct influence on my life. Bill Clinton put GPS technology into the public domain, and from that, Geocaching was possible.

So so far, I can directly attribute Geocaching to Bill Clinton. I'm trying to find one for George, but it's tough!

I believe that the tax cuts Bush pushed thru have made a great difference in the economy. Without them I think we would have slid deep into recession and would not have recovered yet.

His nominations to the Supreme Court will also, I believe, be in line with my positions for years to come.

Other than being mildly annoyed every time I hear him speak, Bush has had no affect on my personal life. I really can't think of any president who has made much of an impact on me one way or another.

Other than being mildly annoyed every time I hear him speak, Bush has had no affect on my personal life.  I really can't think of any president who has made much of an  impact on me one way or another.

I was date raped by Clinton, but apart from that I don't really notice who's in charge.

Legal disclaimer: John D'Oh was not, and never has been, date raped by William Jefferson Clinton. In fact, there has never been physical contact of any kind between these two, er....., gentlemen. The statement given above was made solely for the purposes of satire and humour (also known is some less civilised* areas as 'humor'). Furthermore, no cigars were damaged or made otherwise unworkeable in the preparation of this post.

*The phrase less-civilised was also a humo(u)rous comment, made in order to get a cheap laugh at the expense of America, the world's finest country. John D'Oh likes Americans, and does not actually believe them to be less civilised than some European countries**.

**France and Bulgaria. Well OK, just France.

Hmmm, his tax cuts more than paid for my piano. Oh, and he invaded Iraq. Which has made it much more unpleasant to travel abroad and probably has compromised my safety in the intermediate and long term.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.
