HOLY CARP!!!
Just another lame thread meant to incite conflict and drama and to implictly point the bony finger of indignation at Frank for the "current state of the piano forums".

Meanwhile a heavily publicized piano search by one of our own posters ends, after a fanatically detailed process, with him buying a piano from one of the main "bad guys" of that forum - one of the main reasons it supposedly went so far down hill. Apparently a perfectly good dealer. Yet more evidence that it always was so much hot air.

If I may be so bold, my considered opinion after following this stuff for a couple years is that most of the disgruntled old guard aren't so wedded to truth and honesty on those forums as they are to conflict and drama.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

What are you trying to do? Looks like you're the one inciting conflict and drama.

Sorry.

I said exactly what I meant.

And I don't have any earthly idea about the other issue you are talking about - so I guess you are going to have to point fingers, and name names.

Actually it's not.

Apparently, it's the trolling for idiots thread.

We can stop now. We caught one!

Seriously, you post on PW. For all of your snarkiness, why do you not help posters less knowledgeable than you?

Oh, so now I'm an idiot for not understanding what the heck 89th was talking about?
Wow! I'm soooo unworthy.

Guess I'll go snark elsewhere. Too many feathers have been ruffled over here. Especially with all the peacocks around.

And regarding your last question,,,, (a loaded one for sure),,,,, I do indeed help those who post a question that I have knowledge of. That would usually mean a Petrof question since it's what I bought. Other than that, I just browse and stay amused by you all.

Sorry, hadn't noticed.

Surely you played and considered more pianos than just Petrof during your piano safari? A lot of the folks asking for advice don't even know which way to turn.

I'm sure that any help you, or any of the newbies could give would be most appreciated.

And I love it when snobbery is called out for what it is.

And I would have no problem telling a person like you Mik, to your face.

Mispoken, my friend.

Nobody ever said that Ori wasn't a good dealer, they just said that he kills commentary from other people--some of them being--other good dealers. If you read PW regularly it's all about Ori, Ori, Ori. Nothing wrong with that, but you need not deride other good dealers (Fred Altenburg--comes to mind,) to achieve your ends.

The question isn't, "is Ori a good dealer?" it's why must every other dealer be a "bad dealer." PW used to have honest discussion. Now it's just a shill for particular dealers such as Ori. Nothing wrong with being an online advertisement--it's just that PW ain't what it was and some old timers are sad about that.

Jolly, you, Derick, and others have turned your lamentations and blame regarding the deteriorization of Piano World to the "newbies". Why is that? Is it because we don't bow down to veteran posters? Respect your "betters"? Man, listen to yourself.
I thought the disgruntlement all started with the need to police the immoral dealers that abound there, filling the forum with loads of lies and misinformation.
I may not know a tenth of what you know about pianos, but I really don't see alot of that going on there. I see people like you still bitching cuz Larry got booted.

Also, I didn't realize it was incumbent of me to answer each and every post ala Mrs. Kern (bless her soul). Again, if there is a post that I feel I have a valid answer or suggestion for, I do and have posted. It won't take to long to find them all either, with my hideously low post count.

But again, I kind of like the tension and conflict that arises there regularly. For that I thank you. It makes my working day go by a little faster.
