HOLY CARP!!!

In a way the gays have it made. They know what makes them feel good, sexually, probably makes their partner feel good. I've heard men and women feel very differently about sex. I've heard the timing of their equipment is different, which leads to synchronization issues. Don't these differences cause misunderstandings? How do you get around the different desires and expectations? I hear men have sex because it feels good. I hear women are more emotional about sex. Is this all BS? If not, is this natural or more the result of cultural training? I've heard women withhold sex to control a man. When a man’s gotta have it he’ll go crazy without it, and do whatever she wants to get it. Is it true that women can do without sex longer than a man? Or do women get sent to the dog house just as often? Seems like being straight is so complicated. |

Kenny...you are on the right track. Men and women are very different when it comes to sexual gratification. The joy is working together to find out eachother's needs/wants/desires. I can tell you that any woman that withholds sex in order to get something is a woman that should be avoided. Sex is not currency. Obviously if the couple is fighting or at odds with one another the woman is unlikely to feel aroused, but if she wants a new car and won't put out until she gets her way...well that is just pure manipulation. |

I have a friend who had a very earnest talk with his fiancee not long before their marriage. He explained to her that he knew that men's sex drives did not always correlate with women's. And he understood that people feel bad, are ill, or just have bad days. He knew that some women never have sex on their period, and he understood. He wanted her to know that he would be as understanding as humanly possible. Then, he lowered the boom. If, over a two week period, doing everything possible to get his wife in the mood, she refused him three times, he was goin' cattin' - so don't wait up. If he couldn't get it at home, he'd get it where he could. Must have worked, he's still married 30 years later..... |

I Owe It All To John D'Oh
|
My experience is that many women ... maybe even most women ... have a hard time de-linking sex from emotions. Sex gives rise to emotional feelings that they may not have had otherwise. Men mostly don't have that problem. I've also known women with *very* high libidos. One of the cruel facts of the human race is that a man's sex drive peaks around 18, while a woman's peaks around 35. Now, most men around 35 still want sex enough to keep up with a woman of 35 ... but the best match of sex drives is an 18 year-old man and a 35 year-old woman. (Putting issues like experience, chemistry, what they could talk about before and afterwards, etc., aside.) |

Everybody's sex drive is different. Lots of things - including stress levels and hormones - factor in. Some of these things change as you get older. Hormonally, things change monthly, as well. It's not something you can always generalize about, based on gender. I know women who are unhappy about how little their partner desires sex, just as I know men who unhappy that is isn't happening more often. You're lucky if your partner is someone who matches up with how you are. It's complicated. Jodi

Pretty wordy responses.... It's really quite simple... Women need a reason to have sex. Men just need a place. |

Identifying narcissists isn't difficult. Just look for the person who is constantly fishing for compliments and admiration while breaking down over even the slightest bit of criticism. We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. | |

I've heard men and women feel very differently about sex. I've heard the timing of their equipment is different, which leads to synchronization issues. Don't these differences cause misunderstandings? How do you get around the different desires and expectations? Communication. I hear men have sex because it feels good. I hear women are more emotional about sex. Is this all BS? If not, is this natural or more the result of cultural training? It is BS. I enjoy sex physically and emotionally I've heard women withhold sex to control a man. When a man’s gotta have it he’ll go crazy without it, and do whatever she wants to get it. Is it true that women can do without sex longer than a man? Or do women get sent to the dog house just as often? You can't tell me that is limited to straight people. It is about manipulation and there are men and women who can abstain or withhold. |

Like I said, been married forever. The guy wouldn't have any trouble making good on his promise. Heck, picture the Marlboro Man man with a beard...he's around 50, no gut, probably still wears waist 32 Wranglers with a set of shoulders an axe handle wide. He'd probably make kenny throw PVCs...
