Eight Nabbed for No-Pants Subway Ride
AP

NEW YORK (Jan. 22) - Eight pranksters who dropped their pants and showed their underwear on the subway Sunday were nabbed by police and issued summonses for disorderly conduct.

Improv Everywhere, the group that organized the stunt, said all eight were later released.

The group said more than 160 riders participated in the fifth annual No Pants Subway Ride before police halted their train.

A judge will determine what punishment, if any, the pranksters will receive.

Charlie Todd, who founded Improv Everywhere in 2001, said it's not his group's intent to offend.

"It was our intent to make people laugh," he said. "We try to give people a great story to tell."

Todd, a teacher and performer, said the police overreacted when they turned a harmless event into something that inconvenienced lots of subway riders.

He said he wants to create scenes of chaos and joy in public places around New York, and he posted pictures of Sunday's event on his Web site.

I am so adjective that I verb nouns!
It seems that if he wanted to create scenes of chaos in tightly packed public assembly places with limited means of exiting for panic, he should be horsewhipped in public.
The dogma lives loudly within me.

would horsewhipping require removing the pants? if so, he shouldn't be encouraged.

here's what i'm wondering -- how did people with their pants down manage to catch anyone's attention on a new york subway?

I don't know how it attracted attention either. It seems like most of the males there wear their pants below their butts exposing most of their boxers. Whats a few more inches and some legs?
I'd rather fall into chocolate.
