HOLY CARP!!!
Okay, i have a three hour A-level Futher Maths exam tomorrow morning and in the process of revising i came across a little problem.

Right...

... you know to convert Degrees to Radians you mulitply by pie/180...

Well, if i'm working out the area of a segment, the equation would be the equation of the sector minus the area of the triangle the creates the segment.

(1/2r^2 theta) - (1/2 r^2 sin theta)

= 1/2 r^2 (theta- sin theta)

But...

If i've already worked out what theta it is in radians from the conversion at the beginning, why am i supposed to have my claculator in radian mode?? What difference does it make?

The sin function will give a different answer, depending on whether the calculator is in degree or radian mode. Thus if theta has been calculated in radians to get the right answer to [sin theta] you need the calculator to be in radian mode.

In England maths is a singular it's the short hand for mathematics which is also a singlular. "Mathematics is fun" rather than "mathematics are fun".

i loved maths it was the best class ever! ! Although I've forgotten how to do so much of it, i often go into this years Higher class and observe and I get so annoyed with myself when I forget stuff. lol
Now english, that was my stumbling block, (I got a B :( ) It was really my teachers fault, cause I worked hard, he was a real genius but just was bad at teaching what he knew or communicating his knowledge, if you get what I mean. lol :D
