HOLY CARP!!!

... is still not out yet, not even the preliminary result, one month after the election.

See http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4613758.stm

Just thought you might want to know.

Let's all pray, or otherwise send good vibes, for this new fledgling Democracy that is Iraq. :)

Perhaps no one responded because it is clear this election will likely have no real effect on what is going on over there.

We have now completed Bush's trifecta of elections and January, 2006, a month after the last one, is shaping up to be the bloodiest since the invasion in terms of Americans killed and maimed and Iraqis killed and maimed. This is simply continuing Iraq's descent into a deeper civil war which started well before the first election last January. Things have simply gotten worse and worse with every passing month and the elections have had little or no effect on the overall situation.

One cannot impose democracy on a society which is based on loyalty to provincial warlords with little or no commitment to a national identity.

There will be no peace in Iraq until the US gets out of there and allows the Iraqis to work this out for themselves, however they choose to do so.

As for Afganistan? The Taliban is getting stronger and stronger and their control of portions of the country keeps increasing.

Mmmmmmm, pie!
Instead of worrying about the Iraqi elections Ax, how about you spend a little time removing the libelous posts made against me by Ori on PianoWorld, since I have no way of defending myself against them. Then how about you take the time to let us know publicly whether you had the backbone to to that, or if you plan on continuing to be a spineless wimp like Frank on this matter.

One has to wonder when the conflicts between Rick's delusional fantasy world and reality will have any impact on him. Put another way, does he never tire of being wrong?

There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it".
