Ugh. I've broken a toe before, and it's far more painful than it seems it should be :P

Keep off your feet and hopefully it won't take too long to heal!

I know how much that hurts, Caroline! I've actually done it twice (same baby toe  ).

Best advice I got from a doctor; do a 'buddy' wrap. Get some bandage type tape (sorry, can't remember what it's called) and every so gently wrap the injured toe with the one beside it. Basically you are using the next toe as a splint.
Other than that, it just takes time to heal. But be careful, and walk slowly! :o

It was so stupid how i did it.

I was dancing about in my room to the Love Actually soundtrack ( :leaving: :P ) in my pyjamas and i had two glasses on my desk so i grabbed them and went to put them in the kitchen and as i was semi-walking/semi-dancing through the door i absolutely lobbed my right foot off the door frame.

The image of you dancing around in your room in sleepwear is almost to much for an old geezer like me to bear.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

I broke mine almost the same way! It was Christmas Eve in 1996. I spent the holiday alone in my Toronto apartment. I had just returned from work, and had the music cranked and was dancing around my apartment. The phone rang, I was dancing my way over to get it, and I kicked my toolbox. My toe looked pretty much the same as yours :P

Just FYI - I tried the wrap that Sue talked about it, and it made the pain worse for me. I think it probably depends on where/how exactly it's broken. So try it, but if it makes it more painful, don't be afraid to remove the tape.

Christmas Eve - that sucks!

Damn us girls and our obsession with dancing about to catchy music! :P

That must have been a funny call:-

Caller - Hello?
Dol - 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'

:P

I think it's broke somewhere in the middle ish. I can't really tell at the moment. It's sort of just a general pain throughout my whole toe.

Ahhh, i hate foot injuries!!!

When I was about 13, I was changing a light bulb, put the old one on the ground, walked in the closet to get something, walked out and forgot it was there and stepped on and shattered a lightbulb with my bare foot. Only time I had to use crutches! Just because of the deep cut it gave me.

When I was 12 I was walking in a hotel bare footed and I came up to this door and someone opened it suddenly and jammed my toe...bleeding and all...soo bad!

When I was 16, I had a callus (sp?) on the bottom of my foot which takes weaks to heal, so I had to limp around and it really hurt all the time.

When I was 22, my 11 year old bro open a door quickly just to get the same injury I had when I was 12!

Since then, I wear tennis shoes basically everywhere...and I enjoy it! :P

Sorry to hear about your injury MP! :(
