What Democrat presidents had the guts; to defend the country?

Mmmmmmm, pie!
Bill Clinton?
Nah. He let Bin Laden get away, sat on his hands while terrorists blew up the WTC the first time, the Cole, and numerous other incidents, and blew up an aspirin factory once to take attention away from his personal troubles.

Jimmy Carter?
Are you kidding? Interesting that you have to go back to the late 70s before you hit another Democrat president, isn't it? But no, Jimmy Carter tried once, but he got them all killed and had to retreat. We can all be thankful that no one tried to harm us while he was in office. Other than being unable to get 50 people away from some Iranian fanatics and getting all the men he sent in killed, all he did was pardon all the draft dodgers and give away the Panama Canal.

Lyndon Johnson?
Ah - we have to go all the way back to 1963 to find another Democrat in the White House! Over 40 years, and only 3 Democrats in the White House - two who wouldn't defend the country, and one who took us into Vietnam - and put all the black people on financial slavery plans.

John F. Kennedy?
It's 1961, and we finally find a Democrat president with the balls to defend the country. He wasn't much to brag about otherwise, but at least he stood up like a man when the country was in danger.

You have to go back almost half a century to find a Democrat president that understood what it took to stand up for democracy and freedom.

Thank God for the Republican presidents during that time who *did* do something to stand up for us and defend our country and our freedoms.

FDR makes up for a lot, though. Particularly when you look at what the right wing were saying at the time.

And Truman, that guy was a total wimp. Oh, wait a minute, I seem to remember something about a bomb ...

Clinton didn't do a bad job in Yugoslavia, either, against a background of a lot of right wing cries of 'war criminal', although he did leave the Europeans do do the more dangerous stuff.

I forget, who was in charge when all those scary hippies forced the US to leave Vietnam?
