Yeah, see, it doesn't work as well when you write it down, because it gives away more clues than it should. It's much better as a verbal joke. |

I play Bluegrass (and some western swing and jazz too when the mood suits me) Dobro the past ten years or so. Lately, just to be outrageous in jams, I have worked out some arrangements of Renaissance and Medieval tunes. No, I do not sing and nor would anyone want me to sing. |

I saw Stanley Jordan play Bach keyboard pieces using two guitars - one for each hand played with his patented hammer-on technique. The guitars were hooked up to synthesisers so that they would sound like organs. It worked surprisingly well, although it might have been easier to just learn to play the organ. It was massively impressive, as a technical achievement if nothing else. He followed up with a very good blues set. |

Oh joy, a guitar thread... I originally found PW (and ultimately this wonderful and diverse group)because I was tinkering around with a Roland keyboard, but my instrument of choice is acoustic guitar. I have several guitars but my two pride and joys are a Ted Thompson koa with a venitian cutaway and a Breedlove King Koa. Both of them have a tone that can warm a fingerpickers heart. For strumming I have a 12 string Breedlove jumbo in curly maple it has an incredible booming base. Mark |

Wow, what a beaut! I have a Kamaka Koa ukelele I bought new in Hawaii in 1979 for $52; today I think they go for 10 times that. Koa is very warm and rich. |

Thanx Kenny, I fell in love with the King Koa when I first saw it and before I ever had a chance to play it. Breedlove even ran ads a few years back in Acoustic Guitar that said something to the effect, "why does your best friend have to be a man or a woman" and then had a picture of the koa. Fortunately, one of our clients is a Breedlove dealer and offered the guitar in trade for his outstanding bill. I don't think I would have ever coughed up the cash to buy the guitar outright, but I'm very happy to have it. |

I dunno. I've been wondering about something similar as well. Since we can now get the video off our analog recorder, and onto a DVD, if it would be possible to post a small clip somewhere for others to view. Jodi
