Here in southern Wisconsin for the weekend. It's about 10 degrees, getting dark, and here's what's happening outside my window.![]() Yes, ladies and gentlemen, that's snow - coming down hard, fast and cold. BRRRR! At least we wont have to deal with this:

It smells like snow today. We're supposed to get 4-7 inches throughout the night, into the morning. For this region, that borders on "state of emergency!" It's a coastal storm, too, which means that along the shore is supposed to get more snow than the regions further inland (for a change). It's possible. . . . quite possible. . . . SNOW DAY SNOW DAY SNOW DAY

ZOOOOOM!

Depending on where you are, said storm may be a lot weaker than previously predicted. Now they're calling for 1-4 inches around here. I don't think we'll get much, if anything at all. |

Around here, the prediction actually has changed for heavier snowfall. If we get even an inch, I'll be grateful. |

We got about an inch of snow yesterday; it was so beautiful! And then it started raining. Woke up this morning to a soggy, slushy mess. Yuck. |

That's the pits, Sue! What we're accustomed to around here, for most "snow storms." That's why this one is so exciting- freezing temps the rest of the week, so no rain in sight! |

Brrrrrrr is it ever cold here today in Minnesota. We are supposed to have a high of 10 degrees. I'm not going outside for anything today. We usually don't have these really cold temperatures until late January and early February. My body is freakin out!! |

I hope you get your snow day! 4-7 inches would definitely be an all out emergency here! There were a lot of very disappointed kids this morning; trudging off to school in the slush. Dreams of a snow day all melting away.

I have to share my story. . . So I, like all of the little children of South Jersey, woke up cursing our warm grounds that prevented an accumulation of enough snow to cancel schools. I made sure I was ready with enough time to clean out my car and travel safely on the roads. My mom (the music teacher at same school) had to cancel her classes to stay home with my brother, who has a 104 temp. My drive started off good- I had a lot of time, so I enjoyed the scenery and the great CD I had chosen for a mood-enhancer. I was actually in great spirits! And then my check engine light came on. And then my CD player battery died. And then, 5 minutes away from my school, I came across an accident and had to turn around and go backwards for a detour. I arrived at school as the bell was ringing and was told to go see the principal (hehe). The principal told me that she's worried about the kids being ready for the music for our upcoming Christmas play, and she had called my mom to tell her she was cancelling MY Spanish classes, sending me home to stay with my brother, and calling my mom in to teach her music classes. "Um, ok. Bye then!" Stopped for a coffee, then drove right back home. KickASS!!!!!! Unfortunately, it's happiness at my mom's expense- she was NONE too pleased to have to switch out of comfort mode and rush to work in crappy weather. And as we all know, "When momma ain't happy, ain't NObody happy." I'm thinking I'll go clean the house or something. . . |
